Only Three Days to Go
These last three days are going to be filled with relaxation, fun and well, whatever I want really. My turn-around is thanks to two things... 1. A comment that Jeanie made on my last post saying that there is no reason why napping and relaxing shouldn't be at the top of my list. and 2. Fern's post about the five things she should have done more of before having children.
Now, I am known for changing my tack on a very regular basis. But I think I have good reason this time. Both Jeanie and Fern have kids and are both expecting as well. I figure if anyone can give good advice on how best to spend my last couple of child free days it is these two lovely ladies.
The Big Man and I have spent most of the day on the couch, him playing on the xbox and me just mooching around reading blogs and watching him play. He was even nice enough to challenge me to a few games of bomberman so that I wasn't too left out!
We did get up off the couch once or twice though....
Early this morning we went down to the park so that the Big Man could take some pregnancy photos for me. I was wearing a full face of make-up (which was melting off my face at a very rapid rate) and was all hot and bothered, so I was kind of being a bit of a cranky cow. The Big Man did get some nice photos, but there are also plenty of me midway through saying something nasty or scowling at the camera. Not a good look! I will post a couple of them soon, but the Big Man says that he needs to do some 'post production' work on them first. I hope that means that I am going to look like Demi Moore once he is done ;).
We also installed a pet door for Cooper and Ollie. We made a big fuss of Cooper each time he used the door so that he would want to use it all the time. We might have over done it though, because he then proceeded to jump in and out through the door 12 times, looking very proud of himself every time! Ollie might take a little longer to get used to the door, showering a cat with praise doesn't seem to have any effect what-so-ever. He just walked away...
Anyway I am back on the couch. Not doing much, just waiting for my home-made icy poles to freeze so that I can try and cool down.

Who's That Dog?
Here's a before shot...

When I got him home today, the Cat had a major freakout! It must be because he looks so different and also smells different. The Cat (who doesn't back away from a fight) puffed up his little tail and tried to swipe Coop on the nose. Too cute!
After shots....

Waiting for Daddy
I wonder if they are also hoping for Krispy Kremes?

Pram
Yesterday the Big Man and I made our first big 'baby purchase', a new pram! Mum is actually buying it for us, but it was on sale so we went ahead and picked it up and managed to save her almost $100 (you can thank me later Mum ;) ). It was so much fun trying out the different prams in the shop, pushing them around, collapsing them and trying to work out how to use all the different features... I think that because it was the first big thing that we have bought for the baby, it really reminded us that in less than 3 months we are going to be having a baby (duh)!
Once we got it home the Big Man put it together. I tried to push Cooper around in it, but he got scared and jumped out. Ollie on the other hand loved it!

A Weekend in Hervey Bay
On the Friday night we went out for dinner and caught up with a lot of our friends for Cat's birthday. She was spoilt rotten and had a great time, so it was well worth it :)
On Sunday (and Saturday) morning we took the Pooper to the beach. He had so much fun running in the surf, chasing his ball, chasing us, playing with other dogs and rolling in the sand. Then on our way back to Brisbane we stopped in Maryborough to have lunch with friends of ours that are also expecting a baby. It is always nice to spend several hours talking about babies and not feeling guilty about being completely obsessed with all things baby.
Sunday night when we got home our little cat Oliver was completely beside himself. We had left him out loads of food and water, but he must have got lonely. He was so happy to see us and spent the rest of the night crying whenever he couldn't find us. Poor kitty.
We had a great weekend! I am way to tired to be back at work today, but I keep telling myself I only have 11 weeks to go.....
I hope you all had a great weekend too!

My Famous Babies
The first up was Ollie. My sister used a photo that I had posted here and added a caption to it over at icanhazcheezburger.com. It was completely adorable, but I didn't think much more of it..... Until one morning, I woke up, got myself breakfast, opened up google reader and next thing you know there was my gorgeous little kitten on the lolcats feed. Adorable, yes?
He has grown up so much since I took this picture!More recently Cooper had his 15 minutes of fame on Terry Stanley's blog, dog days of painting. The painting is even more amazing in real life and every time I look at it I remember how incredibly cute my dog is!
Random Bits and Pieces
- We decided to call our little cat 'Oliver'. He really is the sweetest little guy and has a very, very laid back personality. Nothing has really phased him yet, not the big angry cat across the road, not Little Miss Ava carrying him around for almost two days straight, not Cooper, not anything really :)
- Cooper and Oliver are best friends already and sleep cuddled up with each other every night. I'm sure they would both rather sleep smooched up with me, but the Big Man wont let them in our room at night. He's a restless sleeper and Oliver loves pouncing on feet!
- We have been slaving away in our garden and we've almost finished all of the landscaping in the front yard. Next we need to get stuck into the backyard. Sometimes I fantasize about hiring a landscaper and coming home one day to find everything finished...... but I don't think that I can justify it (especially since I really do love gardening).
- We still haven't done much in the way of finishing the inside of our house, but we've given ourselves until Christmas to have everything done, so at least we have a deadline now.
- I have given up my bartending job and am going to do some work for the Big Man's parents until I decide what I want to do next. I really loved working at the Pub and I made some great friends that I will keep for life, but I think I'm ready to move on to something new.
- We have a few major things going on right now that I am not quite ready to talk about..... I will keep you posted as there should be some major changes coming this way soon!
- Other than that not much is going on, I'm still spending way too much time poring over design blogs and dreaming about all of the things I will do to the house once my money tree has grown a bit more**

* This has nothing to do with the fact that I am too lazy to construct legible and interesting paragraphs.
** Ok, I don't actually have a money tree........ and if I did I probably wouldn't blog about it just incase you all work out where I live and climb my fence and steal my money tree.........
Our New Baby
Cooper is a little bit put out at the moment, all he wants to do is play with the kitten, but the kitten keeps running away :)
More photos soon!

The First Time
1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
It wasn't a prom because I live in Australia, but when I was in year eleven I went to my boyfriends year twelve formal. My mum made me my dress and it was a gorgeous blue Chinese style gown (I still have it in my wardrobe, but I don't think I will ever fit into it again!).
2. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Midori. I didn't realise that you were supposed to mix it with soft drink..... needless to say I ended up very drunk and vomited all through my (then) best friend's room. Which caused her Mum to harbor very ill thought towards me for a very long time :(
3. What was your FIRST job?
My first paying job was a paper run when I was 12. On my first day I got up at 4am in the morning and rolled up all of my newspapers and then stacked them all up on my bike, got on my bike and promptly fell off. My Dad tried to help me out with better ways to stack them, but we couldn't get it to work. So we loaded all of the rolled papers into his car and he drove along whilst I threw them out of the window. We continued to do this together every Wednesday and Friday morning for the next two years. God bless my Dad!
4. What was your FIRST car?
An early 1980s Holden Camira, it was a really daggy car. But I bought it for myself and I absolutely loved it! I was so proud to be independent :)
5. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
My friend Jacqui texted me at 8.05 this morning, but because I had (still have) a hangover I didn't get the message until I turned my phone on at 11.
6. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Does The Pooper count as a person? He woke me up with cute puppy kisses around 10.30. I gave him extra breakfast to say thanks for letting me sleep in!
7. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
I can't for the life of me remember, but I do have happy memories from my first year of school, so she must have been pretty good. Maybe my Mum will remember what her name was......
8. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
My first ever plane ride was when I was seven years old and my Mum, Dad and little sister all flew to Australia on our way to Papua New Guinea.
9. Who was your FIRST best friend, and are you still friends with him / her?
A girl called Christina Jury. We lived down the street from each other in Hamilton, NZ. We stayed in contact after I left New Zealand, but I lost touch with her sometime in my teens.
10. Who was your FIRST kiss?
My first kiss was with a boy called Troy and it was really gross. Thankfully my husband is a much better kisser!
11. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
The Big Man.
12. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
I went and found The Big Man and gave him a big hug.
13. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
It was a Silverchair concert. They actually came to Hervey Bay, so it was a really big deal. I had a ball :)
14. What was your FIRST tattoo or piercing?
I had my ears pierced when I was eight and three quarters. It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced. When I turned 21 I had my belly button pierced and it was the second most painful thing I have ever felt. NB. I still wear earrings, but have definitely grown out of the belly button stage.
15. What was the FIRST foreign country you went to?
Australia.
16. What was the FIRST movie you saw in the theater?
17. When was your FIRST detention?
I don't actually recall specifically when I had my first detention but it was probably in year nine and ten. It definitely would have been given to me by Mr Wu, that man had some sort of crazy vendetta against me.....
18. What was the FIRST state you lived in?
Queensland. I love the Sunshine State!
19. Who was the FIRST person to really break your heart?
A guy called Darren. He was my first boyfriend after high school and he was 10 years older than me. I don't know what I saw in him, he was an absolute loser and was fresh out of jail when I met him. Our ideas of what love involved were very different and he was the first (and unfortunately not the last) man to hit me.
20. With whom was your FIRST date?
It was with my first true boyfriend. A guy named Robert who was also my first love. He didn't have his licence yet so his Mum drove us to the movies :)
21. What was your FIRST pet?
Mum and Dad had a huge cat called Leppy Puss and he was there from the time I was born until we moved to Papua New Guinea. He was a huge cat, he was bigger than me until I got to about 10 months old.
22. Who was your FIRST roommate?
My first roommate was the a fore mentioned evil boyfriend.
23. Who was your FIRST love?
Robert. We dated for about a year whilst I was in high school and even talked about getting married one day. I'm pretty sure he ended up married to the next girl he went out with after me :)
24. What was your FIRST screen name?
Mixie. I still use it from time to time, it's also one of the Big Man's pet names for me. Awwwwww
25. When did you have your FIRST baby?
Does the Pooper count? No? Ok then, no children and not yet pregnant..... But definitely trying!
That was fun!! Don't forget to check out Lightening's answers and if you fill it out for yourself leave me a comment so that I can see what you wrote :)

The Pooper Strikes Back
I don't often give Cooper credit for being very smart (probably because he's really not a very smart puppy), but I think he had it all sussed out this morning. He figured that if he acted all sweet and innocent and hugged his monkey while he slept, that I wouldn't be able to punish him for pooping on the floor. Didn't work though. Because I have a truly evil streak, I punished him by shutting his Cat watching window and pulling the blinds. Now he will spend all day not knowing whether or not there are Cats invading his yard. Which I am pretty sure is his worst fear. He is absolutely obsessed with the 20 odd Cats that live in our street and he makes it his business to make sure that none of them step foot into our yard. He will probably need therapy by the time I get home. Might teach him for pooping on the floor though!
